Storm's Coming!

Afternoon clouds. My husband and I had gone across the road to the highschool parking lot to do some rollerblading with our dogs. My rooftop is the 4th from the right!

Martinique Beach

Here are a few pics from the vault - they were actually taken several years ago when my husband and I went to visit my mum on the east coast. They were taken with a plain old pocket digital camera.

Martinique Beach is absolutely one of my most favorite places on this earth. It's the longest beach in Nova Scotia and is very rarely busy (the Atlantic is a cold ocean)!

Jack Skellington

I am a registered massage therapist with a skeleton in my closet. Ok ok so not so much in my closet - he currently resides in my basement. I purchased him (I keep saying him because when I bought him I jokingly referred to him as Jack Skellington and it stuck) years ago when I was in school and desperately needed him as reference material. I tend to be a visual learner (surprise surprise). Now however, he tends to hang around keeping an eye on the basement except for once a year when he gets wheeled out to the front hall where I can show him off for Hallowe'en! The other day was rainy and glum and when I saw him staring listlessly at nothing in particular I realized that he captured how I was feeling exactly.

Piano Inside-Out

These are pictures of the inside of my husbands piano! We had a piano tuner come by to check things out for us a few days ago and when he took the cover off I knew I needed to grab my camera. Once he'd completed tuning it he played a mini-jazz recital for us and it was really cool to hear our piano sing a different tune (my husband focuses mainly on classical)! The three of us chatted a bit and decided that the next time he needs to tune for us he'll come at the end of his day and we'll have a good bottle of scotch waiting when he gets here.

It's a Wrap!

About a week ago today I finally broke down and did something I've been pining to do for years but kept putting off for fear of the 'financial repercussions' that might ensue. Ok - so that sounded real good but to be honest I think I avoided spending the money because I was afraid I would suck... at taking photographs.

Yes - I bought a sweet brand new camera (finally). She's a Nikon D60 (SLR) and she's sleek, and beautiful and I've brought her everywhere with me. She's made preparing dinner, going for a walk, and drinking my morning tea an opportunity for art.

Even my basement has become an exciting and adventurous place! I am going to try and write a small blurb each day and post at least one picture pertaining to said blurb.

So, without further adieu todays photographs were taken before dinner several days ago. I prepared smoked salmon and herb 'n' garlic cream cheese wraps, with a sunflower seed and cranberry salad on the side.
